Sip On This: A Low Calorie Sensational Strawberry Margarita

There’s nothing like an ice cold drink to quench your thirst when it’s warm outside. So, why not make it a strawberry margarita? Pair it with a savory snack or your favorite tortilla chip and you’ve got an instant fiesta! Here’s how to make a ho-hum margarita into a low-calorie strawberry sensation in a flash so you can get back to enjoying the party.

Low-Calorie Sensational Strawberry Margarita  (Serves 4-6)

  • 1 C. of 100% agave tequila
  • 1 C. triple sec
  • 3 C. strawberries, fresh (on the rocks) or frozen (blended)
  • 2 C. Ice
  • 1/2 C. freshly squeezed lime juice (5 limes)
  • 1-2 limes, sliced in wedges
  • Kosher salt

How to Make a Margarita on the Rocks:
Place the tequila, triple sec, fresh strawberries, ice and lime juice in a pitcher. Muddle all of the ingredients until all of the ingredients are mixed well. Then, pour into glasses.

How to Make a Blended Margarita:
Place the tequila, triple sec, frozen strawberries, ice and lime juice in a blender. Blend until the ice is crushed and all of the ingredients are mixed well. Add salt to glass rims by running a lime wedge all around the rim. Then, pour into glasses.

If you like to add salt to the glass, run a lime wedge all around the rim and then, dip each glass lightly on a plate of kosher salt.
